If horse racing would truly do right by the fan, they would somehow get RA, Zenyatta, and Goldikova to race against each other. I think Zenyatta and RA can turf and maybe add some distance over a mile as an obstacle for Goldikova. I have heard or read in many places how all three of these horses are the best in the last 25 years or so. Put them all together and let's see who is the best.

Goldikova is a Monster and Well Deserves to Be in the RA and Zenyatta Mix .
I'm still thinking we will see them All on BC Day , Probably in Seperate Races .
Really I hate to Say it But Why Take Any of them out of their Element a 3 Yr Old, a Grass Specialist, and an Older Mare .
At Least you didn't try to put Quality Toad in their Class . LOL .

Lots of years ago good horses brawled other good horses just to see who was best. The owners lived in mansions and many had tons of 'old' money.
No good no more. The horse's gonads or ovaries for breeding money (not the legs or heart) determine the races.

Not that any owner like Jackson or Moss ever think about that. This is the second straight year that racing can't get it's two superstars together. Big Brown and Curlin never raced last year. There is no shot at this race ever coming together, as a matter of fact, there is no shot at RA and Zenyatta even meeting. Once mini-Zenyatta (Stardom Bound) left California and lost, the Moss' have been scared to death to run their horse outside of California. And when Curlin lost last year, Jackson has decided to keep his horses away from the plastics. Unless of course it's Kensei or some other non-superstar.

Probably from the great racing of the 70's. Todays racing needs to create some excitement to get more people to watch, many of whom would become if not truw gamblers at least weekend bettors. It has to work hand in hand. I do think fans bet. Look at Saratoga, there are many fans who flock there and if not for Saratoga, could they still keep Aqueduct open? And the KY Derby, that one day, where there are many fans, and not just gamblers keeps them afloat for the rest of the meet.
