It seems like 5 retirees a day are dying lately, rest in peace Kona Maybe Spooky Mulder can take his place, it would be nice to have an ironclad claiming warrior there

I agree BL about Spooky.... this has been a horrble month, so many horses dying I am numb to the fact at this point. I have no tears left but i am sure they will be back. May they all RIP. Truly heartbreaking

The RED SCAMPER is one of my all-time favorite claimers.
First at Belmont, cheap claimer. The connections had announced that the old bastard was going into retirement.
1/8 Pole and I were at the Levittown OTB and pounded him at 7/2. The old SCAMP came three-wide and thundered down the lane to win at 7/2. No claims of course, the RED SCAMPER had a place upstate reserved for his retirement.
The old fart fans rooted him home and I remember an elderly lady yelling out, "Yes!! This is better than an orgasm!"
And Al from Brooklyn (a WWII vet) replied, "How would you know? No man has looked up your dress since the Japs surrendered."
Maybe you had to be there to fall down laughing.
