Patronage, mandates, outrageous perks, and state control have finally killed this thing off it would seem. Emperor Bloombucks handed this thing over to the state a year or so ago and we see the results.

Any organization managed by the state is a diaster. OTB is just one giant patronage pool...a payoff to NYC by the upstate appleknockers.

Quasi-government "businesses" have NO incentive to be profitable or even effective. The clerks and "execs" get paid no matter how the business does. Unions protect the incompetent clerks and the execs get paid off on unknown quid pro quo deals. Disgraceful.
I always thought NYS wasn't as corrupt as most other states. No so the last 10 years.
NYS filled with crooks masquerading as politicians.
