The Feds have Uncle Joe Bruno going to prison. It'll be interesting to see what happens here since the state of New York seems to be unwilling or incapable of policing itself. I'm starting to lose track of all the NY pols that have recently been imprisoned, expelled, indicted, or convicted.

Sheldon Siver, the state assembly speaker, is one of the "three men in a room" that rules New York State. Now that the Feds are in, Shelly is backpedalling from AEG to run the slots at Aqueduct. It must be heartbreaking for Shelly to return his bags of money but that's still better than 5 to 10 in a federal lockup.

This entire deal with the Aqueduct slots is going to explode but more important to the racing fans is this: what's to become of NYRA? The state is billions in the hole this year with a budget for next year made out of science fiction that is actually in worse shape.

Another pal of Patersen and the Aqu bid reward:

Queens Rep. Meeks directed $290G for convicted drug dealers' 'King of Kings' anti-gang nonprofit
September 2006, the brothers went nonprofit, incorporating the King of Kings Foundation "to combat gangs, drugs and gun activity" in Queens.

In 2006 and 2007, King of Kings reported no assets on taxforms. In 2008, it claimed assets of $8,800. The group operates out of Lance Feurtado's 161st St., South Jamaica, apartment.

Despite meager assets, the group claimed in 2007 tax forms to have taken its anti-gang message "to over 1,000 youth and young adults" in Queens.
In an interview, Meeks said he sponsored the money because he was impressed with the Feurtado brothers, whom he met in 2007.

It is not politically correct in the lefty Lib state of New York to do anything except look the other way when a minority pol goes bad.

Rangel, Meeks, Sampson, Flake, Espada, Arroyo, the list goes on and on.
