To sum up the detention barn in one word: Useless. This was supposed to level the playing field, yet New York's contingent of "supertrainers" are still head and shoulders above everyone else. I still feel that the detention barn played a supporting role in the decrease in field size over the course of the past 5 years, yet with the dysfunction in Albany and the organization and stiff competition from slots-rich Philadelphia Park, the elimination of the detention barn won't make too much of a difference.

too late for my filly who freaked in the DT Barn and never really recovered. The horses were the ones who paid for the cheating bastards the DT's were supposed to stop.
