I announced that I would be dancing in between the Belmont races in lingerie to some hit tunes of the 1930's, including
Dancing In The Dark while I was home alone.
I am certain that the visual was horrible but if a laugh or a giggle erupted or even a smile happened I'm fine with that. That was the intention.
I think it was the year that Hoppy was born, 1938, but I'm not sure since I too am becoming old and addled out of 1948.
Artie Shaw laid out a great cut of
Dancing In The Dark. He's on the clarinet here. Addled, mind you, am I. Arthur Schwartz wrote it and his son was a NY radio DJ for a lot of years playing great music. Artie is on the clarinet on this original 78 RPM and did seven wives more than I did but one of them was film star Ava Gardner.
