We all have a story like this, where someone utterly clueless can't lose...

As most of you know I work for the NHL's Minnesota Wild. A few of us from the front office were invited to Canterbury last Friday for a VIP night sponsored by Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas.

I don't bet much at Canterbury but I wanted to have some fun, so I placed a 5X2X2, $20 Pick 3 wager when I got there on races 2-4. One of our players (a seven figure earner) shows up 3 minutes before post and asks me who I like. I tell him the 3 horse at 11-1. Horse wins the tightest photo you'll ever see, he bet $60 to win and collects $714. Tries to hand me $14 as a thank you. I grab a $100 and give him a horse in the next race. $60 to win for him and it wins at 5-1. Fourth race, $60 to win on a 3-2 shot and it scores. He takes his money (probably left up $1400 for the night) and leaves after 3 races. I hit the P3 for $269, and of course the $100 tip :) He owes me lunch and dinner in Las Vegas when there for NHL Awards next week.
