For NYRA to cancel on a weekend, a jockey must have floated away? How bad is it there?

I'm not there but it rained heavily to turn the track from Fast to Slop in about three minutes while turning the turf courses to bottomless bogs.

No bitch and moan from me. I've been there when the "bad black cloud" rolls in and lets loose in August.

It was pretty nasty up by Saratoga. We spent the day down by Clifton Park and dodged the bullets.

We have seen rain at the $pa before, and were surprised that they cancelled. The brave ones hung out, and played CCB at Arlington. That worked pretty well.

I was surprised over the cancellation as well, Don. The sun was out later and the Grade 1 feature could have been downgraded and slopped with scratches.

Government racing now ain't what it used to be when horse people called the shots.

But hey what?

The "big government" shitheads that run the racing now get a P6 carryover to get into another weekend day for the farmers and tourists and other people who might play.

The jocks said "No Bueno" after the running of the weather delayed 5th. Jose Ortiz said the main was running like wet concrete. That and him and Irad wanted to watch Monica Puig in the Olympics.

I saw that 1:48+ on the bog for a mile and a sixteenth and thought maybe the Grade 1 lawn race might be shelved.

OK by me - I wasn't becoming temporarily wealthy with the races that did run.
