Betting and losing at the same time. Reminds me of Exceller days, when the clerk jumped over his counter and took off for parts unknown. Later caught.

I have mutuel clerk stories that were something to see. I well remember shape-up part-time clerks that cashed out and "left" the permitted $1,300.00 in their locked money box - but turned in a box of air to the money room.
GONE and NYRA never chased them - didn't want the publicity back then, Paul.
