I too remember well the "old racing" days.
The NY Post came out in lower Manhattan in late-afternoon and even the Wall Streeters bought a copy to see the first three results of the races at Aqueduct or Belmont. Betting on a photo with the railrats? I've seen that action up close when I was young.
