Was at his Derby . Last horse to win the Illinois Derby at Sportsman Park.

Would have been a TC winner if Baffert had him from day 1. Shiek bin Salman bought him for 1M after his "15len" Ill Derby win.

Sportsmens Park was(is) car racetrack. Shredded rubber. Track was under a major highway. Where War Emblem trained.
Prior trainer, Frank Whiting. WE was almost "unmanageable". Tried to bite everyone and everything.Was very,very fast.

Baffert only had him for a few weeks before he was on Derby trail. Would have been a champion for ages if started with G1 trainer

Was across street from Hawthorn . Is now a truck depot I believe. Driven by it a few times. Very Commercial area. The 290 is close by. And Ciccero.
