I read the Stewards comments on the NYRA website where it shows the #11 who won clearly fouled the #9 who in turn banged the #1, who eventually ran 2nd.

If the #11 fouled the #9, why did he only get demoted to just behind #1 and not all the way back to behind #9?

What happened to getting placed behind the horse who was initially fouled?

( and yes, I did have quite a financial interest in this outcome)

Good question. I didn't see that race but it's my understanding that the perp should go behind the runner(s) that was (were) fouled.

The loophole is about placing. If the stewards figured the #9 was finished and backing up and that the DQed winner didn't hurt his placing they just dropped him one slot.

You can't ever figure out what the stewards will do but years ago NYRA boss Terry Meyocks invited me to sit in with the stewards and and we had a BS session. It was all about the DQ of a filly named SOON SOON that cost me a lot of cash. And I was ranting about it on the old NYRA board.

Thats about the only suitable explanation I could come up with too.

I believe the #9 was not going anywhere at the time, thus that explanation had to weigh heavily on the decision.

I had the 8-1-3 Tri and 8-1-3-7 Super.....no #11 anywhere.

I was shaking my head when they put him 3rd....
