Come on guys. Can't we just take this out on our wives? Can't they use a good backhand?

We need to stick together but there needs to be a sense of authority and each of us needs some charity. Maybe the way someone plays pisses you off. For the sake of the group keep it to yourself. If you can't do that and feel the need to indulge yourself at every turn then you likely are cut out to be a loner like some past members that no longer post here.

We have to maintain some sense of what is right. Free speech does not work when we are taking shots at each other. Instead of doing what is right it becomes a war the powerful over the weak. Let's not do the cowardly thing and schism into these fractured groups of like minded people. I enjoy posting here with you people and I am willing to be civil with the people who don't like me for the sake of the group.

Excellent points, Greg.

The evolution of this board over the years is a classic example of the "broken windows" parable:

"If a window is broken and left unrepaired, people walking by will conclude that no one cares and no one is in charge. Soon, more windows will be broken, and the sense of anarchy will spread from the building to the street on which it faces, sending a signal that anything goes.”

Here my friends, is the reason why people no longer post or care about the NY Racing Board. One broken window became dozens, because it became more convenient to let things go and sweep problems under the rug. More problems evolved, and more windows got broken, which leads us to where we are now.

We know that the windows are broken... how are we going to fix them? Or are we going to sit back, leave the window in disrepair, and watch more windows get shattered?
