I perused the getaway contest and saw some things that registered.
SWEET LEW came off bench for a sprint tightener with better. Today Weaver drops him and stretches him out to a distance at which he is 2 for 2 in the $$$.
SPEEDING COMET is going nicely since returning to turf. Closed well last out and today catches the rail for that weird start on a turn to catch a nice trip with Franco coming back.
MUTASAAWY closed from Outer Canarsie last out to get real close. Goes first off the claim in the same company with new rider Cornholio.
HARPOON gave me a cheap temporary thrill last week when he tore up a lesser dirt field to pay three dollars American. Has enough classy back figs on the turf with better company to make me want to see if he can outrun those 10/1 morning line odds.
Third off the bench and third start of the year for the Lump BLUE PIGEON. Four for six in the $$$ on Belmont turf. Clement, good bug, has competed in a graded stakes. Helluva grope.

Everybody pays the P6 except the Old Aqueduct Ten Tap out of the 1970s.

The 1/7/8 will catch another DD for me while Weaver's #8 SWEET LEW could bring in a payday P3.
Just 50 years ago I joined the Marines at 17.

Payday Zacta Zoomer goes backwards while $8.10 chalk brings in my $15.80 DD. Oh yeah, there were folks like me looking for a number in the getaway race today.
I lose under sixty bucks while being in OK action for most of the day. Three out of four in a P4 stinks with an $11.60 Lump winning the leg I missed but today was a strange day at the races. The P4 payoff stank anyway for the spread I had originally lined up.
I "knew" the HARPOON would outrun his odds today on the lawn but blew the wagers with him ($14.60 for the place).
Tough card I figured I could beat but didn't.
