It's third over and a drop for BOW TIE AFFAIR who catches 5 inside scratches after drawing way out in Canarsie. Got beat a nose last time in this company.

Speaking of Canarsie, in a bit of irony the CANARSIE KID draws the rail and should be in this one every step of the way with a good gate rider up.

VIRGA won for me last out third over as a chalk cover. Anything left in the tank? Meets winners for the first time but this is a N2L field. Dicey chalk nonetheless.

NEW YORK ZIP returns to grass. My personal equine albatross but I'll be rooting for old friend Leo O'Brien.

The momcat Mister Mittens is blown out upon my bed for sleep with her daughter Shiloh while her son Trouble is making do with an afternoon sleep on my recliner. All three cats have full bellies from a great lunch. I think they like it here and after the 6-year tryout the teen bride and I are going to let them stay.

DD: 2-12/1-4

P3: 12/1-6-8/3-9

Chalk Chump DD Flier: 5/6-8

CANARSIE breaks from the rail and just keeps going to kick off some nice DDs for me at 5/1.

I have thumbed home from the track a few times in my youth after loving a maiden winner that was meeting winners for the first time as chalk. It's a bad bet most times.
