Only the #3 MOANA can catch the P3 but is a good one for a 2X2X1 ticket.

Gotta grope though. The account is up and this deuce-to-five thing is no lock.

INQUIRY

I thought I saw some strange things as a young Marine but this race is right up there - start, the stretch and Lord knows what else.

The winner fouled everybody at the start and should be placed last but this is NYRA.

The $15.20 winner kicked off some great DDs for me but the stewards are still "The Three Blind Mice" like when I worked at the New York tracks.

SMILE BIG hooked a right off the break and did a plow job into a dominoes deal into the competition.

But he won by more than a length and a half after a flagrant foul and that makes it OK in New York.

Tough game is this and NO a DQ would have not gotten me the P3.

What has to happen at the gate for a DQ?

The 1/5 was in the money and the winner was clear at the wire. The stewards were happy with the flagrant foul at the start.

I think a jock has to shoot a fellow rider or a horse at the break to be seriously considered for a DQ in New York.

Many years ago up in his office at the Spa, steward Dave Hicks told me that a length and a half clear at the wire was rarely coming down. Fellow steward Braulio Baeza was in full agreement. I was in there to bitch about a mare named SOON SOON that got fouled. NYRA bossman Terry Meyocks invited me up from Long Island to meet the stewards and I did so.
