It's second over for MASCARELLO and he draws inside for a good trip out of the dogleg start and turn-and-a-half race. He's been close in the last two but today has no excuses with Irad for the rider change.

SHAMCAT cuts back second off the bench and goes for a tag. Sits the trip with Castellano from the two-hole and is 1/2/0 in three tries at this distance. Clearly the horse to beat.

The Lump RIVER KNIGHT is interesting and not only for his speed. He catches weight off with the bug and is 3 for 6 in the $$$ at the mile distance. The MTO will be an inside scratch and this one might help out a gimmick ticket underneath.

Been waiting for Nutzforboltz to run back. Hopefully he gets out of the gate this time. Velazquez takes over for Shosberg.

Canarsie ain't dead over those wide sweeping turns of the Widener course but early position is key. Good luck, sir.

The 2/3/8/11 will be racing for Leg 2 of my P3 off the chalk kickoff single but I'm not sold on anybody here and the last race has me wetting the Depends a bit over "slow turf speed".

Down the lane I thought I was finally going to get the overalls off of Margaret but the pacesetter stopped.

Helluva try by the gallant statebred NUTZFORBOLTZ but 7/2 with these out of Canarsie was tough to take. I covered via the astute Handykapper and got a good run down the lane.

I've had racers go second for me in every race so far.
