The weather looks OK and I want to see the first grass race on the main course since I was last playing it more than 40 years ago. The winterized main track is brand new too with a new base and cushion. And it's BC Day #1 out west.

For many years, you groused about how the track was broken and NYRA finally put their money where their mouth is. It will be a change of pace watching an entire winter of racing on the main track and hopefully it will encourage some outfits to keep more horses in NY.

The best damned turf course in the country was destroyed to make the "inner circle of death" for only one reason - to keep NY racing going year-round and keep the NYC OTB patronage hacks employed for the winter and building up huge pensions.
Even with surcharges the NYC OTB couldn't turn a profit and several years back it imploded and the huge pensions, supported by the taxpayers, went POOF!
Yup, I groused. I knew the crooked deal it was. I even remember when the NAACP boss lady Hazel Dukes ran the OTB and the first thing she did for the broke OTB was remodel her office for a million bucks and and install a ten-foot pink sofa. Oh how I remember.

How will the Aqueduct seasons be divided now? Just Fall meet until 12/31 then Winter/Spring until the end of April? Or just one lump sum from opening day until closing day?

Like always I suppose - Fall/Winter Meet until 12/31 and the Winter/Spring Meet thereafter.
It was the fans who pegged the main/inner/main changes as the "unofficial meets", not NYRA.
