I was working some races and came up with a few thoughts.
Chad's BLACK SEA has never raced at 9 furlongs but got by this condition two back at ten. Returns with a tag to do it again. It's a long run down the chute to hit the bullring inner but with Javier up this one figures to be catching a good trip - the early tactical speed is there.
WAR BOND showed speed in Keeneland two back to beat a NW1X field at today's distance but he can rate and he did just that earlier this year with Ortiz up when he beat a starter allowance field on this course. Today he draws inside and reunites with Mr. Ortiz.
I have a feeling the Lump SHALAKO could outrun his odds today. He's a 5-time turf winner and has won on this course from Canarsie. He's OK with these with Maragh up. Grabs a piece perhaps in a small field.

The chalk never caught the rail while the deuce had the rail and saved ground every step of the way.
The "best" caught the DH place with the other inside contender WAR BOND.
The outer turf course is honest - this inner thingy favors inside runners unless a runner is "much the best".
