Chad's HAY STACK draws the garden spot for the dog-leg start. Should be on the improve second out with a sweet trip.

The Irish-bred JUST A SPLASH makes her debut for a fine firster outfit. She'll get the distance and hopefully Cancel has her forwardly placed early on to save some ground.

You can't let a Chad runner beat you in a NYRA opener and the upside to IMPLICATED is a turf work tab and Prat staying.

I'm not fond of the post but I like that Ortiz takes the Pletcher mount INVEST WISELY. No disgrace in the debut but will need a better trip here.

Never let Chad beat you in a NYRA opener. Happily, the right one got home at 9/2 to kick off some DDs and a P3.

Turf work was key as to trainer intention somewhere down the line.
