The Tom Voss-trained EL VIAGE looks to be well-spotted here on the cutback off the maiden score. This one took a truckload of $$$ early on and has drifted to 3/1 with 57 MTP. Aizpuru up is a big plus.

Jonathan Sheppard's TERPSICHOREAN has been collecting checks with better and handles wet turf OK. Was a far-back second in a Grade 2 last out but I like that he broke the maiden at today's distance and that my gal Danielle Hodson is up for today's ride. Gets some class relief here.

TERPS seems to have had a heat problem in the paddock and has been hosed down. No scratch yet with 10MTP.

The #6 is now scratched. That stinks cause I agreed with you Pole about his chances of winning.

I now turn to the #12 Mabou. This horse is 1 for 1 at the distance, where he broke his maiden at Philadelphia Park back on June 7. If this horse can overcome the outside post, he should be able to get a piece.

1/8 Pole and I like Tony Dutrow's Deli shipper, WOODACRE, in the second contest and have pulled the trigger on a DD with TERPS gone from the opener. Sheppard trains DUGAN and years ago Dugan's Bakery shared the railroad cut with the Belmont station on the Long Island Rail Road for freight. How's that for handicapping?

Mabou overcame the outside post, but he got eaten up at the end.

Figures, I like two longshots, and the one I don't single comes in

My key runner goes third but MABOU was taking those National Fences easily for a long way. The deuce had no sprint after the final fence but I will admit the winner would have come in handy at the Little Big Horn - YOU THE MAN had run after the final jump and might have gotten Custer out of there.
