In a race full of good stakes-quality horses but no standout, I'll take the only proven G1 winner in the field. Mr. Sidney has been a turf runner for his career, but I'll trust Bill Mott is not just sending him out for a test drive on the dirt. Mr. Sidney dug in gamely in the Makers Mark Mile last out when it appeared the second place finisher was going right by at the 1/16th pole. Ignore the time, the turf course was a complete bog that day. The well-bred 3.9 million yearling purchase has Kent Desormeaux again, and two nice works over the course the past 2 weeks.

10-1 ML and likely my only play of the day.

Varying thoughts about this one today. From two horse race(Smooth Air and Bribon) to upsets from some up n comers. If an upset exists I think it will be Prado that brings it home. I wish anyone but Luzzi was on Fantasy and I might take the weight drop and give it a ride, but no can do with my nemesis. I see him and Accredit keeping company with Driven. The Roundhouse fills out my exotic combos. 6 wp-- 6 w 2,8,9,11 ex box--over in tris

Thought Driven By Success had a tough trip in the Toboggan and came back and ran well in the Carter. Not sure he'll survive the pace or distance but I think he's got wnough fight to last for mionr placing in this field. Bribon looks like the likely fave here but for a horse that runs in & out I'm willing to take a stand against him based on his price,(I'm expecting him to be at least 5/2 or lower).

The Roundhouse looks like one who'll definetly benefit from the pace here.Take the potentially bigger price of the two Pletcher entrants. Also another worth a stab at a price is Runforthedoe who could also benefit from the hot pace up front.

Kind of surprised Ready's Echo is the longer of the two Pletcher entries here.

in the end the two logical horses ran 1-2 but DBS ran a pretty good race and was just nosed out for 3rd.

Wow, I was wrong he held on for the 3rd. I thought for sure he gave it up.
