I'm glad you're in BL for the night action.
I have played Indiana but I only know the state by driving across it.
In 1966 Larry Jordan's '55 Ford broke down in Terre Haute while we were driving back to Kansas City (our duty station) from leave in New York - Larry was from Floral Park. He was 19, I was 18.
A gang of about seven white trash approached us as we were walking around town killing time waiting for the old car to grab a new distributor. We weren't "townies" and rated a beating according to the locals. We were armed with .45 pistols under our jackets.
Jordan drew his weapon and kept it pointed to the deck. I drew mine but I yanked the slide to chamber a round and had the weapon charged "safe off" and ready to kill somebody.
The guys ran like hell (one of the white guys cut 100 yards in just under 10 seconds). We weren't going to get thumped by shit trailer trash.
Terre Haute is a tough town and Indiana is a rough state.
