Essentially, it's almost one year to the day since the Kel Weiss Memorial, and there's Bombilla and there's a switch to jockey Simon Husbands, as well. Talk about deja vu! Of course, none of us saw that a trainer as obscure as Pringle was taking money that day - Bombilla will most likely go off at 20-1 today, but the coincidence is too tantalizing to pass up. Two across on lucky #7....this one's for Marty. Personally, I like #10 First Penny; not crazy about Jerkens' #1 Princess Cugat, but the Chief does well at Belmont in springtime, so will box those three in the exacta and triple. 1-7-10.....hey, the old inside/outside + 7! |

Geez - the odds dipped down to 7-1 on Bombilla (20-1 ML). It sure wasn't my two-dollar win wager. Four minutes to post and 8-1....this is interesting. |

Wasn't meant to be. Bombilla got into gear late, but went wide and too much to do. I'm glad I made the bet, though. Englehart sent out the winner. Does this trainer still have a string at his old homegrounds at Finger Lakes, or has he moved his entire operation to NYRA country? |
