But the value stinks. If you have a $48.60 runner up top to land a $105.00 exacta for a deuce you're going to be in tears.

Winners that paid $22.60 and $48.60 bring back a piddly $413.50 DD.

I understand that's a nice score but the risk/reward scenario is all whacked-out with tiny fields.

Every smart bettor at my local OTB says the exact same thing as you do. It IS a small field with 400+ DD.
