Couple of personal fave in here that have me somewhat surprised at the prices morning line. Haynesfield at 7/2 is tough to take. Didn't like his comeback in the Westchester though his connections seem to think it did him good and feel confident about him. Surprised that Ibboyee is 15/1 M/L considering how well he ran in the G2 last time out. He was flying and the wire saved the top two before he could get there. I hope they realize he's strictly a one run beast that has one electrifying late run and could win it all.

I really like #11 Tizway here. He'll be one of the favorites, but I still expect 7/2 or 4-1 in this competetive field. His race 2 back off the 4 month layoff was a nice effort as was his race in the CT Classic considering 9 furlongs (3 turn race as well) in the slop is not ideal. He's a solid 2 for 5 (all 5 ITM) at Belmont including a nice 3rd to Quality Road in last years Met Mile. He's been training strongly upstate and I expect a big effort 3rd off the layoff.

I liked TIZWAY for this race but HAYNESFIELD has the speed for this one-turn mile and I'm going to try to be not so stupid for this race if the 3/1 holds.

Good Lord!

This race used to be the kickoff for the Handicap Triple Crown before the races got heavier and longer with the Brooklyn and the Surburban.

Here today we have topweight carrying 120 pounds - 6 pounds under 3-year-old scale.

Enjoying the festivities from the best seat in the house Larry, my couch. Think this field is probably the most evenly matched field we'll see in any stakes race this year but 3-1 on any horse this race is a bad bet. I love Haynesfield and I'll be happy if he wins but not at that price. Ibboyee at 10-1 is very enticing. I'd put him in a four horse box with Aikenite, Yawanna Twist & Tackleberry.
