All in No Outs looks like the main speed here. Could be lights out by the stretch. If Equivocation gets sent like last time, the race complexion could change.

If the favorite falters, the logicals appear to be Successful Score, who could sit a pocket ride, and Merlin Bay, who needs a pace to work with, but takes a slight drop in here from open $10k to this starter condition.

I think they'll be chasing SUCCESSFUL SCORE through the early splits while ALL IN NO OUTS and MERLIN BAY track and pounce.

OUTS would get my money if I had to call a single.

But after the first 7 races I don't think I could call a cab without a Boy Scout helping me.

It's OK, Larry. I started today on a tight budget, got nothing through the 1st 3, and tapped out.

In retrospect, I should have played small ball early and left enough for the later races. My analysis has been spot-on since the 4th race, but got nothing to show for it. You can't bet with money that's not in the account, so I rode the pine and became a spectator. It happens.

However in retrospect, the game changes if the rains had come, so I can't feel too awful.

I just got into the bottle of rum. I don't know much about rum but as an old Marine I figured I couldn't go bad wrong by filling my glass to the top.

I play with less than a hundred most times when I get into playing the ponies. The bride makes the big bucks, not me.

This horse was a "slammer" if you were going to the fifty-dollar window.

But when you're stroking for a number with a small bankroll all I can do as an old fart is remember the two things my father taught me half a century ago at the racetrack.

(1) "If you like it, play it."

(2) "Look at the guys at the fifty-dollar window. More than half of them have holes in their shoes."

There's a good message in there somewhere. All I know is that my father played the horses and took some book while keeping his day job with Con Edison.
