We're going with early speed and the top speed fig.
Luck to SOTB to land the DD off the 6/1 runner.
P3: 6-7/1/6

One time at Del Mar in 1967 ( I was a 19-year-old sergeant then) I was in my short-sleeved summer khakis and some people jumped me good. They gave me $$$ to wager, shots of booze, and ice-cold beers. One middle-aged fellow brought me up to a bar and told the barkeep to give "the Marines" any drinks I wanted. He laid a fifty down. There were three of us and a 'Grant' was huge.
Not everbody was a hippie lover back then.
Rank was good if you went into the Marines in 1965. I saw corporals then who were Korean vets but with the huge expansion with Vietnam you got promoted if you had infantry training and had some "time in". Two years off of 17 with time in an infantry regiment you were a non-commissioned officer for Vietnam.
I would serve in a heartbeat all over again but I'm not sure the Corps would take back a 61-year-old rifleman.
Jeez, I would serve again with the young kids of today if I could. I was OK in the field under fire.
