I like it when Mott stretches out a turf clunk debut. SEEKING SUNSHINE does that here and is well-backed in the doubles.

Nice works on EVENING STAR after the troubled debut at Colonial.

Firster Lump OSTENSIBLY catches Castellano for a virtually unknown trainer who is 2 for 4 at the meet.

UPPER GULCH is zip for 14 and you have to let this one beat you here unless you're in love and hammer the bastard.

More head scratching.

Somebody has rammed another layoff job in the multis methinks - SHINE SOFTLY.

DD: 2-5/7

P3: 2-3-5/7/7

Lump OSTENSIBLY catches a dribble diddle W/P wager.

This is a tough card early on for me.

Mr. Tote gave out SHINE SOFTLY as a 4/1 winner if only you studied the pools, the probables, and the willpays. I did and still fired a dribbly diddle into the play.

Mrs. Murphy gave it to me as a single before race 1 and I'm sorry I didn't thump it.

She's going to phone again and her 90-year-old voice is going to squawk, "Did you have it, you Irish bastard?"
