I was born in Brooklyn and lived at 844 Flatbush Avenue, close to Ebbets Field. I was a Dodger fan and hated the Yankees. I had great times when Pop and I would walk to Ebbets Field to see a game.

Fast forward to 2018. The Dodgers deserted Brooklyn after the 1957 season. Back then the three most hated men ever in Brooklyn were Hitler, Stalin and Dodger owner Walter O'Malley.

I've always been a National League fan and a rabid Met fan since Day #1 in the Polo Grounds back in 1962 so the present World Serious (a Brooklyn expression) left me in a quandary about being a fan.

The Dodgers deserted Brooklyn and their star is a no-run no-hustle bum named Machado. Boston kicked the shit out of the Yankees and knocked them out of the playoffs.

I'm a temporary Red Sox fan.

Sox go up two games on Wednesday and now it's time to go to La La Land.

I'm with you. My NY pedigree would have made me a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, thus I also became a Mets fan. For this W.S. I will side with Boston. Interesting tidbit on the Dodgers departure. Robert Moses offered Walter O'Malley a plot of land at the intersection of Flatbush Ave and Atlantic Ave. The Dodgers balked on that spot. The plot sat vacant for 50 years until it was developed as Barclays Center.

Teams don't seem to do good around here, Dodgers to L.A., Jets deserted us for N.J. and Islanders are bouncing around the Island between Uniondale & Brooklyn and back to Uniondale again while not enjoying much success in either place in the last 3 decades.
