Always, never a moment left alone. The "Old Guard" 3rd Regiment of the United States Army (formed in 1784) does the honor.

Unknown American remains were brought back from WWI. A bunch. A lottery was performed to see who the "unknown" was to be honored. Nobody knows if the Unknown is United States Army, United States Navy or United States Marine Corps and the 3rd Regiment, U.S. Army doesn't give a $%#*. They're not leaving a fellow American killed in action.

Helluvan honor to serve on that detail and I salute everybody who has ever performed that duty.

BL, that kid will freeze to death and drop before he deserts his post by his fallen comrade and fellow countryman. He will be properly relieved from his post and turn over his station in an orderly fashion to an armed comrade. It can be no other way.

I'm proud of those people and am more than proud to be a veteran.
