No, I wasn't at Mama No No's on a different continent in a strange dream from decades ago. I went to my own bed early safe, safe and sober. The tom Trouble was sleeping but left me room to slide in. I tossed off the light and reached over to pet him. He sighed, snorted, warbled and stretched. He was to my right and I had reached over to pet him with my left arm. He slapped my left forearm with his right front paw. That thing can blow out to the size of a saucer and lay out razor claws but all I felt was soft paw pads. He went back to sleep and I went to sleep.

I woke up at at 1:30 a.m. The tom was gone but his mother had woken me up by thumping her rump into my left hip as she flopped next to me. I gently rubbed her skull, the back of her neck and her shoulders. She purred. The thermostat is down to 62 overnight. I tossed some comforter over her up to her neck. As I tucked her in she licked my right hand once with her sandpaper tongue. She buried herself in the covers and went to sleep.

The momcat let me sleep in until just after 5:30 a.m. before jumping up and down upon my groin and head-butting me to get up to serve her some breakfast.

Question - Does that formally feral female feline love me or is she just using me to live well? Is she playing me for a dopey human flunky?
