The first thing a guy has to do is throw out everything he knows about being in bed with a human girl.

It's good to have a large bed, queen-size at least. If the lady cat is sleeping upon your covers before you get there try to slide in underneath your covers gently. The cat will wake up and stare at you - she's a wild animal and sleeps lightly. She will be in the middle of your bed for her maximum comfort. Do not expect her to move over to give you room. She has planted herself in the middle of the bed for a reason - in case of attack she wants four directions of open space to flee a predator. If she doesn't raise a ruckus be thankful that she is allowing you into her "cat nest" for the night. Sleep on the edge of your bed and hope you don't fall out after farting in the middle of the night.

Most nights the lady cat will jump into your bed after you are already there. It'll be dark. You will not hear her coming as she gently jumps into your bed with no noise. You will be in the middle of your bed like it ought to be and the cat will be OK with the deal since she wouldn't be there without already accepting you as the human flunky that lives in her territory.

You might be under the covers while she's standing on them but she understands that you weigh about 175 pounds more than she does so as she flops next to you she will slam her rump into your left hip as hard as she can to wake you up and let you know that she is there. She doesn't want you to roll over her in your sleep and she wants you to understand that your bed is in her territory.

You are a weak human male with love in your heart and you reach out in the dark to gently pet her skull, her ears and rub her shoulders while she might lick your hand before purring herself off to sleep.

And this'll be the same goddamned cat that's jumping up and down upon your groin before dawn to wake you up for her breakfast.
