My little granddaughter Miss Peaches (Allison) turns 18 in a few days and the bride will be driving to Virginia on Friday morning for a weekend visit while I remain at home to care for some cat creatures.

Jeez, when I was 18 I was a Corporal of Marines fighting the Battle of Kansas City as an armed guard jerked out of 6th Marines infantry. The year was 1966 and just half a century ago.

Forget about the 50 years. Where did the last 18 go?
