I went to bed under my covers and turned out the light. A few minutes later the momcat Mister Mittens jumped into my bed and was over the covers. She flopped while slamming her rump into my left hip. I reached over to rub her skull and ears and we went to sleep.

In the middle of the night I woke up to pee as a lot of old guys do. I knew I couldn't go left to get out of bed since the momcat was sleeping there so I went right. And that's when I heard in the dark a loud cat noise and caught a powerful paw swipe into my left forearm.

I did not know that the huge tom Trouble was sleeping next to me on my right but I was happy to learn that the paw swat was all soft paw pads with no claws extended.

I got to pee and in the morning at 6 a.m. when I woke up the tom and his mom were sitting alongside me with four green eyes glaring at me that said only one word - Breakfast.
