Have we been dumbed down so much in last forty years that even common courtesy and manners are in the crapper?

I go out on Sunday morning and purchase a few items and the papers. I get my change and say, "Thank you." The clerk tells me that I am "no problem" and that's when I became angry.

I explained to this young asshole that I freely chose to spend my money in his store in a courteous manner and was insulted to be barely on the good side of causing him a fucking problem. I further told him I was going to spend my money elsewhere in the future and stay out of his problem-plagued store.

Hello out there! People do want to be told they are not a problem when they freely choose to trade and do business with a merchant. If I am thought of as a potential problem when I go to a store the owner can go ram the store up his ass and twist the parking lot up there too.

I understand that people were better and brighter years ago but I am sick and tired of this "no problem" crap every time I say "thank you" to somebody under the age of 50. I didn't come into your goddamn store to cause problems and a simple "you're welcome" would suffice.
