WWII was on in Europe and my parents were newlyweds in June. The old man was a stateside Army vet from the 30s and 27 years old but he knew what was coming. Mom was 22 and praying that the inevitable wasn't going to happen but then December 7th happened. Pop would be 101 in 2015 while Mom would be a pup at only 97 but both are gone just as we all shall be when the clock runs out and the bell rings.
Freddy played tenor sax and arranged this playing of Tchaikovsky's
Concerto in B-Flat Minor. Jack Fina was a smooth pianist but "thumped" the keyboard early as per his boss Freddy until later in the recording. I don't know who does the trumpet solo but I do know I once knew.
