1/8 Pole is away for the weekend so there's only an old-fart Marine here to take care of things. The wife has already kissed me goodbye after showing me the expensive comforters upon her bed. The thermostat is set at 69 to give us a shot at surviving. The three house cats no doubt would have preferred to live beyond five years (six for the momcat) but they will have unlimited food and the wherewithal to be buried in expensive comforters before the weather indoors takes them.

Oh for &*$% sakes! I'll be 68 next month and have seen more snow storms than arrests. The snow blower is ready to go with new oil and jugs of gas out in the garage. And so is the generator if my Big Government Electric Company falls on its ass again like when Sandy hit three years ago.

The cats out back have shelter and on Friday night I'm laying out lots of food and warm water for them to load up. During the day when the snow falls on Saturday I will be out back now and again to make sure that the ferals are laid up OK in the cat condos. Anybody in trouble or out loose while I'm clearing the deck is coming inside the house.

We've got a "blizzard warning" going for Friday night and that's OK. Catching the first snowfall in late January is NOT a bad deal for where I live. Before the snow blower days when I was a puppy of about 60-years of age I cleared 27 inches of snow with a shovel from my property (including the driveway) in about 8 hours without dropping dead.

Less than half that amount is forecast for tomorrow and I have a monster snow blower ready to go. I'm more concerned about the several feral cats that live out back and the few that show up now and again to bum a meal.

So happy to hear the ferals are going OK.

I read that you opened the garage during the storm...anyone stay inside?
