I was 5' 9'' when I joined the Marines at 17 and 180 pounds but I was still growing. I got out of the horrors of Parris Island at 155 pounds but I wasn't skinny and got fitted for uniforms with a 34" waist.
At 21 when I got turned loose from service I was 5' 11'' and 205 pounds of bad-ass but still wearing 34-inch trousers.
Yesterday at the doctor's office at the age of 68 I was back to 5' 9" with 170 pounds of weight. And yeah, I can still get into 34-inch trousers (sailors and women wear pants, Marines wear trousers).
