I put the two window air conditioners up in the man cave into storage for the winter. The cats get back two superb perches. The one in the doggy dormer was easy with the sloping roof below.
The one at the top of the stairs two stories up got my heart beating fast. As I was laying it aside to my right the tom Trouble came racing up the stairs to my left and vaulted to one of his favorite perches. The window was open and the screen was up - I thought he was out and gone for a fall of 25 feet to a concrete driveway but he landed on the sill with all fours tight together (claws out for a good grab). He just wanted to look out the window and see what was below, left and right and up and down.
Thinking about it later after the scare I thought about the huge tom Trouble being born here and living here for more than six years. That cat knew what was outside that open window on the second floor and he loves life - he wasn't planning on going out a 2nd-floor window on a gallop and he's a feline athlete in his prime.
Humans are strange and so are cats. I love that cat and care for him well - he shares his territory with me.
