Despite hundreds of dollars in newspaper ads that are still running from July of 2010 the stunted runt female kitten Shiloh is still here as a 6-year-old. Apparently nobody on this planet wants to adopt her. Her tiny size cost us a half a grand to have her spayed when she became fertile (DVM and DVM anesthesiologist). She is the gentlest, sweetest animal I have ever seen unless she's killing bugs that get into my house during summer. She is non-verbal, zero cat noises except for ONCE a day - lunch. When I'm washing the breakfast feed dishes for lunch and preparing a good feed little Shiloh will rub up against my ankles and let out some cat cries. When I get off the counter with great chow she will sit where her feed dish is coming and let out a perfect "meow" or two. Other than those lunch moments you will never hear this female cat utter a sound. I can't afford a full-page ad in Newsday to get her adopted so I suppose she'll just have to be given treats, be brushed, be petted and be loved before she goes off to a warm bed again tonight. Lordy, that runt girl cat might have never made it in the street but she's a joy to have here. |

All is well. There is shelter in the garage and cat condos. |
