My daughter-in-law Jennifer is a wreck tonight I suppose. Her 17-year-old dog had to be put down.
Yes, my home has three cats in it since 2010 but it was a "dog house" for a long time before that. At a shopping center when the wife and I were young there were five mixed border collie pup mutts up for grabs, four males and one female. We talked about it at home and went back to grab a male. They were gone. The female pup was alone and whimpering with no sibling company and no mother but she cheered up when the wife and I began petting her. We took her home.
Susan lived to be 19 years and 10 months. When she couldn't get up anymore I took her away in the car to be put down. Yeah, it hurt bad but she had a good long life with a lots of love, great food and great places to play and sleep and be adored. She was a great dog.
