No, I wasn't in bed with the wife as a senior citizen looking for a purple pill - I got under the covers alone but before I could reach over to turn out the light a huge tomcat jumped into my bed. I patted his head, rubbed his ears and noodged the side of his head with a rub. And then all 17 pounds of him went "sphinx" upon my chest over my blankets. Trouble settled.
I rubbed his head and shoulders and he went to sleep purring with the lights on and me wondering about how to get a huge cat off my chest.
I'm thinking that all the love, care and kindness that this huge cat catches during the daylight hours should stop but Jeez he's a sweet good-natured big guy. The wife builds blanket & comforter nests for him in her bed and in the living room so I'm guessing she's fed up with him as well.
