Post subject:  Feeding Feral Cats With A Blizzard Coming - Oh Wooley!

Well, you can't load them up with food with a storm coming simply because cats don't catch weather reports and the well-fed ferals out back catch great meals from me on a daily basis. Cats with a regular source for food do NOT stuff themselves - they eat to satisfy hunger and lay up. Or go hunting or humping to make kittens

I'll lay out a lot of good cat food on Monday evening before the sun goes down. The insulated cat condos have good warm cat beds in them and the side door of the garage will remain open so that feral cats have a place to lay up out of the weather.

No matter what happens on Tuesday I will be able to clear snow from the cat condos and get food and warm water into the garage.

The 8 or so feral cats I feed on a regular basis carry good weight, are healthy and know where to go out back to beat wind and weather and wet. The "American Domestic Short Hair Cat" is a hardy mutt cat that has gone through many thousands of generations. It is a tough breed.
