The track of the blizzard went north and west of Long Island. With a few inches of snow down this morning the precip turned to sleet and rain. I was out this afternoon moving several inches of slushy glop before it freezes tonight. The slush clogs up the snowblower chute and the stuff is heavy and is very difficult to move with a shovel. Being an old fart pushing 70 didn't help any.

Long Island lucked out. We are heading for 2-foot territory up by Saratoga.

Spa may delay July start with the 24 inches. Oak Tree table is covered.

Yeah, I saw that and now hear that the U.S. Big Government Weather Wankers knew late Monday that NYC and Long Island would not catch hell but kept the Blizzard Warnings posted so that the people would not become "complacent". You have no idea how angry that makes me and simply makes me despise big government all the more.

Last night's hard freeze had me chipping slabs of frozen snow off the car this morning. The teen bride lays long black girlie socks over the wipers to keep them from freezing and with last night's rain they froze rock solid overnight and I had to cut one off this morning with a steak knife. I got out OK though for a warm muffin. Over at ShopRite I had the store all to myself after the weak panic pussies cleaned it out on Sunday and Monday.

Won't extending the wipers outward work, then cover them?

That's the position they were in. The wipers were fine - the socks were frozen.
