The teen bride and I are in a paid-off home for more than 39 years. Long ago when I was young I knew a fellow that had attended Our Lady of Loretto grammar school in Hempstead before I did for "religious instructions". He had a classmate Carol that was an agent for Nationwide. Frank and I knew some of the same nuns and priests and I went to see Carol for insurance for the home and autos - we caught a great deal. That was long ago and no claims were ever laid into Nationwide for car crashes, house fires or damages done by drunks or Mother Nature.

2017 - Carol is retired and her son is our insurance agent. Our premiums for insurance keep going up.

The blond busty teen bride with the silver hair on Social Security? She puts out "feelers" for a better deal and catches a good one that's going to save us almost two grand a year - from the 15 minutes and GEICO.

As you get older you understand that the "steady paychecks" stop. The pensions, the savings, the Social Security, the retirement accounts and Aunt Flo's gold teeth no longer represent great dollars to spend.

Hey, we even clip coupons at my house.

No one has ever been able to come close to my AARP rates for home, and auto. :)
