| Post subject: | The Wife Is Traveling Again |
In May it's out to Chicago to see our son John and his wife. In June it's another trip to Ireland to see relatives and have a great time. Me? I've been to Ireland twice (Pop used to say if Ireland was any good his parents and grandparents wouldn't have done the long swim). Forty states and across two oceans are good enough for me. Trips to Canada for assigned work and trips to Mexico as a young Marine out of California are memorable. I'll be at the paid-off home I busted my ass for with work while the wife travels. I'll be taking care of some cats and maybe I'll be out in the morning to snag a warm muffin, cat food and some beer if a good NY racing card is up for the day. As a youngster I used to dream about having a home on Long Island like my father did many years ago out of WWII. He got it and I got it and I have no problem being near it as an old fart. |
