My son and I were talking about next Friday at Belmont Opening Day. We talked about many of the people that could be there for Marty's race. No biggie.

And then the conversation fell upon the hot young girl from North Carolina.

I explained to my son that I trained as a young Marine in North Carolina and he yelled out that he had trained as a young Army guy in South Carolina but we both agreed that the best things from the south are outstanding troops, sand fleas, well-taught discipline, and large bugs.

And Grits.

This is really hard to think about. Really, hard. I'll be there Belmont week, I don't, right now though, think I'll be there this weekend. But, a wild hare can change that with as little as 48 hours out. As well as Opening Day, its Oaks Day at CD, of course. Most of all, its Marty's day.
