| Post subject: | The VA Phoned Me On July 13th |
I caught a reminder that I have a 7:30 a.m appointment next Tuesday for a full-boat lab scope a week prior to my appointment with my great girl Dr. Shirley T. The people at the VA know me now as a '65 teen Marine and I was asked to show up sober as a guy pushing 70 with no K-Bar combat knife tucked into my boot and no .45 pistol tucked into a holster anywhere on me. They asked me to show up with some urine and lots of blood to be pulled. I can do both of those things. On a serious note, I am thrilled with the VA care I catch at the VA Clinic in East Meadow, NY. The MDs, the nurses, the intake people, the lab techs and even the people that sweep the floors are mostly veterans (from every branch of the U.S. military) and they treat the patients (young and old) like somebody "special" has just showed up. |

Dr. Shirley phoned me this morning. My blood work from yesterday says I'm a tad anemic and she wants me on an iron supplement starting today going into my appointment with her next Tuesday the 25th. I wonder if Iron City beer will fill the bill. |
