They told me that my Social Security benefit was overpaid since not enough money was pulled out of it to cover my Medicare Part B premium. We file our taxes jointly and for whatever reason the I.R.S. makes you pay the Medicare B premium upon your income from two years back. Well, the busty teen bride had retired but had some deferred stock options due (income) and moved some cash from an account to a different investment (income) and I get nailed.

I still wear an Aqueduct sweatshirt that's 30 years old and falling apart but I'm "wealthy" according to the I.R.S. I don't use Medicare since my Marine Corps service has my health care covered 100% with the VA except for small co-payments for my prescriptions. Some weeks ago the wife sent off a check for a couple of thousand dollars so my 2018 Social Security wouldn't be slaughtered with "paybacks" for coverage I don't use or need anyway.

Earlier this week a letter arrived from the I.R.S. informing me that the wife's check had arrived and was credited to my Social Security account.

Today in the mail I received a strange I.R.S. 1095 form and a letter to tell me that I am not required to pay the Obamacare penalty in 2018 for non-coverage since the Veterans Administration and Medicare had me in a health care plan for all of 2017.

I'm proud to be an old 4-year Marine regular but sometimes the government of the U. S. of A. drives me batty.
